Following the
rapid growth of the Chinese navy (and because of the strong misinformation about Chinese warships & their "hull numbers"). This "Fleet-Review" can only be "approximate". As usual, feel free to correct me or add additional information

  5. Awesome work buddy, but I have a few information tidbits that I'd like to show you, since they come from military insiders.

First is, there will be eight Type 052C built, followed by eight Type 052D

There is also rumored to be a Type 054B after the 16 Type 054A.

There is one Type 095 submarine currently under construction.

    Five Type 094 are expected.

There will be two more conventional carriers.

    Excellent blog :D

  8. SOme updates from the shipyards. The first Type 052D is about to be launched and so far three are being built at the same time. After four are built, they will move on to the Type 055 cruisers.

The Type 052D will feature a universal VLS, 130 mm PJ38 gun, new radar, FL-3000N.

    ReplyDelete
  9. There is zero evidence at the moment for intentions to build a
"Type 055" cruiser. The production run for 052D is entirely up to speculation, as Chinese officials have not released any such numbers in the past and likely wont in the future.

  10. Excellent tally.

You said at the beginning that supercarriers will be useless post 2030, could you elaborate why?

US certainly seems happy to keep her 10 supercarriers around. The last Nimitz class carrier will not be decommissioned till 2058. Keep in mind that the aircraft accident rate on a 80000+ tonne carrier is about one third of that on a 60000 tonne carrier.

BBC has reported that the first ingenious Chinese carrier is under construction already, although it didn't say anything about the tonnage.
