Hi Mike! Yes, they are interested in the new Swedish A26 concept, but as always with the Norwegians you can never trust them completely. They have already withdrawn once from the joint Nordic submarine project Viking some years back. Maybe they will ultimately choose to modernize the Ula class.
ReplyDeleteOf the minehunters and minesweepers KNM Oksøy was laid up in 2005 after a grounding and sold in 2009, KNM Orkla was destroyed by fire and sank on 19 Nov 2002, and KNM Glomma was decommissioned in 2004 and sold in 2009.
Hi P.N ;)
ReplyDeleteFleet Review updated
Many thanks for your help
;)
Any information on the type of torpedoes used by the shore based batteries?
ReplyDeleteyep, likely the "Tp-613" (introduced by 1995).
ReplyDeleteApparently the Norwegians have not forgotten how they sank the Blutcher.
ReplyDeleteYep, Chuck
ReplyDeleteBut today, at the age of satellites and intelligence via communication means, the efficiency of these batteries is that if they are highly mobile and can be hidden from the eyes of the enemy
I was wondering if they were mobile.
