  1. The two Archer class boats were both modernized, tropicalized, and refitted to Södermanland class standards during 2006-10, including the insertion of a new hull section with a Stirling air independent propulsion system.

RSS Courageous of the Fearless class patrol vessels was involved in a collision on 3 January 2003 with the merchant vessel ANL Indonesia, which resulted in the death of four female RSN sailors. The vessel was damaged beyond repair, and AFAIK she is still laying on land at one of the RSN naval bases. Highly unlikely she will be repaired.

  2. I forgot to mention the life extension programme of the four Bedok class MCMVs. Apparently "two are planned to be fully refitted with modifications to the hulls and mine-hunting systems, while the other two will receive partial refits. A decision between two competing European bids was expected to be made by April 2009, with completion of the first platform expected 18 months later."

There is no sign though that the Bedok class will receive an upgrade of the fire control system and the gun like the RSwN's Koster class, despite the fact they are near sisters.

  3. the figure 22000 is most probably a typo, it should be around 2200 regulars with 1800 conscripts and +- 5000 reservist
