Defend the Malacca Strait and a country cut in two, what challenge !

Cartography
Of the entire Malay land aera, only 0,3% were of waters (rivers/lakes).
Coastline of 4,675 kilometres (2,905 mi), whereby Peninsular Malaysia has 2,068 kilometres (1,285 mi), while East Malaysia has 2,607 kilometres (1,620 mi) of coastline. A EEZ of 334,671km2 claimed.

2 Lekiu
(Jebat, Lekiu). 1800/2200 tons, 105 meters (British 1990’s light frigate design). Commissioned by 1999, with probably +/- 30 year of service expected, to remain in service until late 2020's/early 2030's.

2 Kasturi
(Kasturi, Lekir). 1500/1900 tons, 97+ meters (German FS 1500 light frigate design). Commissioned by 1984, with probably +/- 30 year of service expected, to be retired during 2010's.

4 Light Corvettes

(Laksamana Hang Nadim, Laksamana Tun Abdul Jamil, Laksamana Muhammed Amin, Laksamana Tan Pusmah). 650+ tons, 62+ meters (former ex Iraqi 1980's light corvettes). Transferred by 1997/1999.

As usual, It may be that in my opinion, I forgot programs ? (or made few mistakes ?, especially for the auxiliary and smaller ships), then SAID IT ! Feel free to comment and give your opinion !

    The large amphibious ship KD Sri Inderapura (not KD Sri Indera Putera as stated?) which was transferred in 1994, was destroyed by a fire on 8 Oct 2009 which broke out while the ship was anchored in the Lumut Naval Base, and the ship was officially decommissioned from Royal Malaysian Navy on January 21, 2010: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Spartanburg_County_(LST-1192)

    I believe the four Laksamana class vessels with their 650+ tons displacement, their Albatros SAM and their ASW capability, should really be classified as corvettes (not FAC): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laksamana_class_corvette
